{"id":1051,"date":"2014-03-03T19:24:29","date_gmt":"2014-03-03T18:24:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pologgb.com\/happy-hour-seminar-9-2\/"},"modified":"2018-08-06T17:43:18","modified_gmt":"2018-08-06T15:43:18","slug":"happy-hour-seminar-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pologgb.com\/en\/happy-hour-seminar-9\/","title":{"rendered":"Happy Hour Seminar #9"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday 11, February 2014, Polo GGB will host the <strong>9th Happy Hour Seminar<\/strong>, a listing of meetings, symposia and events, featuring one or more talk and\/or speaker and offering to the scientific and the entire community the opportunity to explore topics at the forefront of biomedical research.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting, focusing on the progress of the search for targeted treatments for each type of cancer and the patient, will feature the research team headed by <strong>Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center<\/strong> scientists <strong>Christopher Kemp, Ph.D<\/strong>., and <strong>Carla Grandori, M.D., Ph.D.<\/strong>, which has received a $4 million grant from the National Cancer Institute to develop precision therapies that selectively kill cancer cells while sparing normal, healthy tissue.<br \/>\nThe debate, which will be moderated by <strong>Prof. Luigina Romani<\/strong>, Dept. of Experimental Medicine, University of Perugia, focuses on how to utilize<strong> high-throughput screening<\/strong> and RNA interference to rapidly test thousands of genes in patient-derived tumor cells.<br \/>\nThe meeting will provide a unique opportunity to learn about the state of the art of anti-cancer treatment research development. As usual, at the end of the meeting an \u201caperitivo\u201d will be served to the presents.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a
