The Genomics & Bioinformatics Laboratory, located within the bio-incubator of the Toscana Life Sciences Foundation in Siena, is a cutting-edge research center as well as an accredited diagnostic laboratory specializing in medical genetics.
Position Summary
Polo GGB is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join the Genomics & Bioinformatics Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Rosa Giglio (Senior NGS Researcher) and Dr. Chiara Leo (Senior Bioinformatician).

The candidate’s activities will focus on molecular biology and genomics with particular emphasis on the development of molecular biology assays and the provision of technical support to other departments within the company.

Preparation of detailed technical notes and presentations to report experimental results.
The candidate will conduct all activities in compliance with the requirements of Quality Standards and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
The position is available immediately.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology or a closely related field.
- Proven expertise in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, nucleic acid extraction, cloning, CRISPR-Cas systems, NGS library preparation, and sequencing.
- Demonstrated proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation, evidenced by first-author publications in quality journals.

- Highly motivated to engage in cutting-edge research and publish in top-tier journals.
- Ability to independently plan, conduct, and analyze experiments.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Problem-solving mindset and strong analytical abilities.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of Italian is advantageous but not required.
Duration
24 months, with the possibility of extension contingent on funding.
