Polo GGB is seeking a Project Manager, who can provide day to day management and administration for the project, ensuring benefits are realized and risks are managed accurately.
The remit of the Project Manager will include overall project coordination and management control, including the putting in place of grant funding, contracts for procured services, human resources, monitoring outcomes and financial targets where relevant. Part of the role will be budget management and financial and output reporting, whilst the other part of the role will be to coordinate and liaise with the external partners and to ensure coordination and delivery of the internal project team.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of the project, implementing critical metrics and ensuring that it is delivered according to milestones, deliverables, schedule and budgetary requirements and tracking the project’s progress (finance and outputs) using project software systems.
- Ensure that the project is compliant with sponsor regulations, budgets and reporting are accurately handled, Senior management is kept informed with project performance, and all components of the project are well coordinated.
- Prepare and submit financial claims to the funder and approve invoices relating to project expenditure in a timely manner.
- Monitor progress against the forecasted output delivery monthly and ensure all reports are delivered on time. Reporting will include progress against plan for delivery activities and outputs and results delivered.
- Ensure that all changes to projects are appropriately recorded and approved by the funders.
- Provide an internal audit function for all project partner claims prior to submission, ensuring that project partners adhere to the financial rules. Provide financial support and advice to non-finance staff on finance and compliance for project partner leads.
Essential requirements
- Bachelor level degree in scientific subject area.
- Experience projects management, potentially in European and National programmes working with and/or managing multiple project partners.
- Experience of handling a strict budget, delivering a project within budget, and internal and external financial reporting.
- Strong, independently driven delivery focus with strong organisation, coordination and facilitation skills.
- Effective communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Strong practical knowledge of programme and project management activities, including scheduling, budget preparation, cost tracking and quality measurement.
- Knowledge of innovation support agencies and funding streams.
- A collaborative approach with effective skills to work in diverse teams and engage new partner.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and with minimum supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Italian and English language.
- Excellent knowledge of Italian accounting system.
