Polo GGB’s Prevention Initiative
In this context, Polo GGB, in collaboration with the Centro Diagnostico Senese (CDS) and LILT Siena, is launching an important initiative for women in the Siena area. The project offers a free questionnaire followed by a genetic consultation with a specialist to assess individual genetic risk. This service is part of Polo GGB’s broader “Progetto Donna” (Women’s Project).
The “Progetto Donna” and BRCA1/2 Cancer Prevention
The “Progetto Donna” is designed to provide women with concrete and accessible tools to increase awareness of the risk factors associated with BRCA1 and BRCA2 genetic mutations. Identifying genetic predisposition through targeted screening can save lives, allowing the adoption of preventive strategies or personalized monitoring plans.
Free Genetic Consueling
Thanks to the support of CDS and LILT Siena, women can access a free questionnaire and genetic consultation. During the consultation, a specialist evaluates family history and other key factors that may indicate a predisposition to BRCA mutations. The results will help determine if further genetic screening tests are necessary.
