On Tuesday 11, February 2014, Polo GGB will host the 9th Happy Hour Seminar, a listing of meetings, symposia and events, featuring one or more talk and/or speaker and offering to the scientific and the entire community the opportunity to explore topics at the forefront of biomedical research.
The meeting, focusing on the progress of the search for targeted treatments for each type of cancer and the patient, will feature the research team headed by Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center scientists Christopher Kemp, Ph.D., and Carla Grandori, M.D., Ph.D., which has received a $4 million grant from the National Cancer Institute to develop precision therapies that selectively kill cancer cells while sparing normal, healthy tissue.
The debate, which will be moderated by Prof. Luigina Romani, Dept. of Experimental Medicine, University of Perugia, focuses on how to utilize high-throughput screening and RNA interference to rapidly test thousands of genes in patient-derived tumor cells.
The meeting will provide a unique opportunity to learn about the state of the art of anti-cancer treatment research development. As usual, at the end of the meeting an “aperitivo” will be served to the presents.
