The Polo d’Innovazione di Genomica, Genetica e Biologia (Polo GGB) has added an Illumina MiseqDx to its fleet of Next-Gen sequencing technology systems (which already include HiSeq 1500 and MiSeq, both from Illumina, and Ion Torrent, Life Technologies), to perform screening and diagnostic testing applications, which will include both single genes and comprehensive panels.
The MiseqDx is the first FDA-cleared (US Food and Drug Administration) sequencer and is becoming widely used in clinical environments. It offers a small footprint, an automated, easy to use workflow, enabling ample multiplexing, maximizing operator efficiency and increasing throughput.
