Tiger Mosquito genome sequence is now complete. New discoveries on mortal diseases transmission are incoming.
Pathogens and Global Health journal has published an article in which reveals the first genome sequence of one of the world’s most invasive mosquito species, Aedes albopictus (known as “Tiger Mosquito”) capable of spreading a great number of disieases. Analysis and sequencing were realized thanks to the European Community support, in cooperation with may important institutions, as the Imperial College in UK, University of Perugia, Polo d’Innovazione di Genomica Genetica e Biologia di Perugia, the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of Heraklion and many other collaborations from United Kingdom, Italy and United States.
