Fifth event of the T.I.S. “Top Italian Scientist” – Thursday, February 19, 2015, h. 14:00, Aula Magna – School of Medicine, Perugia
A new, unrepeatable event of the “Top Italian Scientist” seminar series is scheduled for Thursday, February 19, 2015, h: 14.00-16.00, in the Aula Magna of the School of Medicine (Univ. of Perugia).
Guest speaker will be Prof. ANTONIO TORRONI, Full Professor of Genetics at the University of Pavia, who will be holding the speech “ORIGIN AND DISPERSION OF MODERN HUMAN POPULATIONS. A MATRILINEAL PERSPECTIVE”. Please find attached the Abstract.
Prof. Torroni graduated in Biological Sciences at La Sapienza University in Rome, and then obtained a PhD in Genetic Sciences at the University of Pavia. He was Postdoctoral fellow and Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Genetics and Molecular Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine ( Atlanta – USA), Director of the School of Life Sciences and Coordinator of the PhD in Genetic and Bio-molecular Sciences at the University of Pavia. His main research interest is the study of genetic variation in human and animal populations and is author of 172 articles published in international journals, with 14,000 total citations, boasting a current h-index (ISI) of 64 .
